Shot in Havana, Trinidad, and Viñales, Afro Cuba Libre is a short documentary that attempts to explore the complexities of black identity on the communist island of Cuba. Filmed, directed, and edited by Shaynah Ferreira and Kate Bartel, who are both working on their B.S. in Journalism at Emerson College. They produced this short film under Cindy Rodriguez of Emerson College for Reimagining Cuba.
