New fence along undefended U.S.-Canada border will deter smuggling, says official
A new fence is under construction between Lynden, Wash., and Abbotsford, B.C. According to U.S. Border Patrol, it will deter threats posed by "dangerous criminal enterprises" attempting to cross from both directions.
